Maju Expressway (MEX Highway) will become the first highway in Malaysia to publicly support toll payment via credit and debit card starting today, 3 August. This is made possible through the implementation of the open payment system which already in the works since last year.
As the system is still going through trials, not all MEX Highway’s toll plazas are immediately able to support credit and debit card payment though. For starters, it can only be performed at six lanes in Putrajaya Toll Plaza at the moment.

Rapid KL has expanded credit and debit card payments on some of its MRT line stations, which includes the acceptance of Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay. However, the implementation is done on the token vending machines, instead of the gates.
With the initiative from PayNet and Maybank (as acquiring bank) in promoting MyDebit contactless card acceptance with Starbucks Malaysia at its nationwide Drive-Thru outlets, we are glad to be the chosen technology provider for this implementation.
