June 2015 – CoherentPlus in collaboration with AutoPerk Asia brings PerkCafe which is the first self serving fully automated coffee machine in Malaysia and Asia Pacific.
CoherentPlus as the leading contactless payment device provider in Malaysia teamed up with AutoPerk Asia to integrate the Hammerhead contactless reader to the self-serve coffee machine. The solution was unveiled at the Maybank TreatFair that took place recently in Midvalley exhibition center. Following the theme of the Treats Fair #cashisoldskool, the Coffee Machine only accepted Visa payWave as the means of payment.
Patrons at the fair we able to pay for their cup of espresso, cappuccino or americano using Maybank Visa payWave enabled cards, Maybank Visa payWave Microtags and even Maybank Visa payWave watch. Over 1400 cups of coffee were served over the 4 days of the fair with an average of 1 cup of coffee every 2 minutes.
Patrons at the fair were able to pay for their cup of espresso, cappuccino or americano using Maybank Visa payWave enabled cards, Maybank Visa payWave Microtags and even Maybank Visa payWave watch. The event was a great success to promote the usage of Visa payWave and a successful debut for PerkCafe.
With the initiative from PayNet and Maybank (as acquiring bank) in promoting MyDebit contactless card acceptance with Starbucks Malaysia at its nationwide Drive-Thru outlets, we are glad to be the chosen technology provider for this implementation.
